The Kirtland Youth Association (KYA) was established in the fall of 1997 and received a 503(c) designation from the IRS in May of 2000. The KYA is for children in the community to come together to learn and play. KYA offers an After-School Program, a Summer Program, and many sports programs open to any student in the community, grades 1-8. The KYA operates two facilities, one in Kirtland, NM and the second in Ojo Amarillo, NM.

Mission Statement
The Kirtland Youth Association, Inc. is dedicated to serving the youth of the San Juan River Valley with educational, recreational, and social programs. The organization will develop, organize, and conduct activities which will provide a safe and wholesome environment for those youth.

Program Goal
The main goal of the Kirtland Youth Association, Inc. is to implement, expand, coordinate, and evaluate the integrated educational, health, safety, cultural, and recreational services to the youth of the surrounding communities of the “Valley.”
